AlertGenie ("we," "our," or "us") operates the AlertGenie stock and cryptocurrency price alert service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

By using AlertGenie, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Account Information:

• Email address (required for account creation)
• Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing)
• Phone number (optional, only if you opt in to SMS alerts)

Usage Data:

• Price alerts you create (stock symbols, price thresholds)
• Trading journal entries (trade details, notes, mood, strategies)

Payment Information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.

If you opt in to SMS alerts, we collect your phone number solely to send you transactional price alert notifications. We do not use your phone number for marketing purposes.

We record the date and time you provided consent for SMS alerts. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP, disabling SMS alerts in settings, or removing your phone number from your account.

We do not sell, share, or rent your phone number to third parties. Your phone number is only shared with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of delivering your price alert messages.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• Stripe — for payment processing
• Twilio — for SMS alert delivery (phone number only)
• Firebase — for push notification delivery (device tokens only)
• Market data providers — we send no personal data to Finnhub or CoinGecko

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Database access is restricted and secured
• Session-based authentication with secure cookies

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@alertgenie.org.
